Two people suffered minor injuries after a boat caught fire in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, authorities said.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said crews were called to the fire just before 5 p.m. in the Intracoastal Waterway at the Commercial Boulevard bridge.
“Units could see a column of smoke as they approached the scene,” fire rescue said.
There were two people on board the boat when it caught fire, and both were rescued from the water and checked out at the scene.
“Both had minor injuries but refused transport to the hospital,” fire officials said.
Authorities said the flames were extinguished “relatively quickly.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
