Division leading Lightning aim for first road win of the season as Empire State double dip begins against the Islanders

On a three-game winning streak, the Tampa Bay Lightning set out on a two-game road trip on Saturday night, as they skate into UBS Arena to take on the New York Islanders in the first of three meetings between the Eastern Conference foes this season. The Islanders have alternated wins and losses over their first four games of the season, but are undefeated on home ice as they aim for their third consecutive home victory over Tampa Bay dating back to February of 2025. Tampa has been led by its defense, that has allowed just 2.25 goals per game this season, sixth best in the National Hockey League, trailing the Islanders who are third in scoring defense allowing 2.00 goals per game and having held three of their four opponents to one goal or less.
