Genre-curious jazz guitarist and composer Charlie Hunter swings into Orlando for an eye-popping two-night stand of four (count ’em!) gigs at the intimate Judson’s Live.
Over a 35-year career, Hunter has continuously pushed at the limits of the possible in jazz music, incorporating elements of funk, blues and outré rock alongside freewheeling improv in the company of all-star collaborators from D’Angelo to Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy to Frank Ocean.
Joining Hunter for these shows will be saxophonist Nate Clark and drummer Carter McLean. This will be the very definition of a hot gig.
7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 11-12, Judson’s Live, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 S. Magnolia Ave., drphillipscenter.org, $40.71-$58.41.
