Fort Lauderdale’s Prolific Prep headlines a field loaded with future college and professional talent

Some of the nation’s top high school basketball stars are playing in Pompano Beach this weekend

Boca Raton, FL – November 11, 2025 – The Grind Session, a winter circuit of high school basketball events that has produced approximately 100 NBA players and more than 20 first-round NBA draft picks, is hosting a three-day showcase at Highlands Christian Academy from Friday through Sunday.

Prolific Prep junior Bruce Branch III

Prolific Prep will headline a field filled with future college and professional talent. The Fort Lauderdale-based program is one of 10 men’s teams participating and features four players on ESPN’s list of Top 100 prospects, including the nation’s #6 overall senior Caleb Holt and #2 overall junior Bruce Branch III.

The showcase will also feature three women’s teams, highlighted by Gigi Battle and Chikae Desdunes. The highly recruited Class of 2026 guards star for DME Academy out of Daytona Beach.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Grind Session circuit to Pompano Beach,” said Grind Session co-founder Scott Waldrop. “Fans and scouts alike can expect three days of elite competition, next-generation talent, and unmatched energy as the future stars of basketball take the court to prove why they belong among the best in the game.”

Since 2014, more than 3,000 Grind Session alumni have gone on to succeed at the collegiate and professional levels, with approximately 100 NBA players and more than 20 first-round NBA draft picks emerging from its ranks. That list includes recent NBA champions Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder).

Admission is $15 a day, and kids age 6 and under are free.
