Two men accused of kidnapping and robbing a victim in Doral during a sale have been arrested, authorities said.

Lazaro Nunez-Martinez, 31, is facing several charges, including kidnapping with a weapon, grand theft, and tampering. He was arrested Sunday.

During his court appearance, a judge denied Nunez-Martinez bond.

A second suspect, identified as Darian Ernesto Morejon-Rodriguez, was captured Monday in Hallandale Beach.

According to authorities, on Friday, detectives met with a victim who said they were robbed and kidnapped.

An arrest report said that on Sept. 28, the victim contacted an unknown person on Facebook Marketplace about buying an iPhone. The two then met at the seller’s home, and the victim was able to buy the iPhone.

Weeks after that first purchase, the seller contacted the victim and offered to sell him more phones, and they agreed to meet outside the victim’s apartment building, the report said.

When the victim met the seller at the back of the apartment building, he approached a BMW, where the seller was, as well as another person, the report said.

The victim, the report said, then opened the front passenger door when he saw the second person, who was lying down in the rear passenger compartment, and then sat upright and pointed a gun at his head.

The armed person told the victim in Spanish to get in the car, and the victim did, and told him to give him everything he had, the report said.

As the victim pleaded with the suspects not to harm him, the report said, he attempted to escape the car as it was driving, and opened the passenger door, but the suspects were able to grab and pull him back. The victim then heard the armed suspect telling him was a goner and heard them racking their gun.

During the drive, the victim tried to call for help, but was unsuccessful, and tried a second escape attempt by throwing about $4,000 toward some bushes and then got out of the car and ran, the report said. One of the suspects stopped to get the money, and they fled the scene.

When the victim met with detectives, he gave them the number of the seller, and they were able to identify him as Nunez-Martinez, the report said. They were also able to match the car the victim saw to Nunez-Martinez.

On Sunday, detectives established surveillance to try to find Nunez-Martinez, and they spotted him travelling on the Florida Turnpike, the report said.

A traffic stop was initiated, and Nunez-Martinez was arrested.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has listed several locations known as “safe havens,” where buyers and sellers can meet to make sure the process goes smoothly and safely if meeting in public.
