JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Many people across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia looked up Tuesday morning as a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket climbed into the sky, creating a striking jellyfish-shaped cloud.
The rocket lifted off at 6:33:44 a.m. EDT Oct. 13 from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. It carried NASA’s SpaceX CRS-35 mission, part of the agency’s Commercial Resupply Services program.
The Dragon spacecraft is carrying more than 6,300 pounds of science and supplies to the International Space Station. NASA says Dragon is scheduled to arrive Thursday, Oct. 15, and dock at the zenith port of the station’s Harmony module.
This is the fourth flight for Cargo Dragon spacecraft C211 and the eighth flight for Falcon 9 first-stage booster.
