CRESTVIEW, Fla. — Tallahassee Fire Department members deployed to Crestview and spent the night on standby as the Shoal River threatened nearby homes.
TFD’s USAR Task Force 7 had two swiftwater rescue teams ready while crews mapped out areas of concern and monitored rising water levels. The river later crested and began to recede without any major incidents.
Monday morning, the team broke down base camp and returned to Tallahassee to begin demobilization.
