WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Commercial airline service is returning to Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, with Breeze Airways planning nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach and Orlando beginning next year.

According to the airport’s website, Breeze Airways will begin offering nonstop service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in February 2027, followed by flights to Orlando, Florida, in May.

The announcement marks the return of commercial airline service to the Westmoreland County airport following the departure of Spirit Airlines.

U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., welcomed the announcement Tuesday, highlighting efforts to restore commercial flights to the region.

“Arnold Palmer Regional Airport plays a vital role in connecting residents and businesses across southwestern Pennsylvania,” Reschenthaler said. “I was proud to support efforts to restore commercial air service after Spirit Airlines ceased operations, including the airport’s application for an $850,000 federal grant to help attract a new carrier.”

Reschenthaler credited the Westmoreland County Airport Authority for securing the new airline, saying reliable air service is important to supporting local businesses, attracting investment and creating jobs.

“Thanks to the hard work of the Westmoreland County Airport Authority, Breeze Airways will soon bring service back to Arnold Palmer, providing travelers with another convenient option while strengthening our regional economy and supporting job growth,” Reschenthaler said.

Breeze Airways describes itself as a low-cost airline focused on affordable fares and an upgraded travel experience.

The airport also offers free short- and long-term parking.

Specific flight schedules, weekly frequencies and fares have not yet been announced on the airport’s website.

Travelers can find additional information on the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport website or through Breeze Airways.
