Construction workers at Pendry Tampa, a luxury hotel and condo being built on Tampa’s Riverwalk, celebrated a major feat last week when they completed the top floor of the 38-story building.

“This is an incredible addition to Tampa’s skyline. It’s going to be one of the premier hotels in our city,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said at a ceremony commemorating the milestone.

The project is set to open next year and will include 218 guest rooms and 190 residences.

The ground floor will feature two restaurants, including one with a lounge and outdoor terrace. There will also be a speakeasy.

Other hotel amenities include a fitness center, an outdoor pool deck, a spa and 4,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Condos start at $1.7 million. More than 80% of units have been sold to date, bringing in around $400 million in total, according to a news release from South Florida-based developer Two Roads.

Condo owners will have access to all of the hotel amenities as well as a residents only bar, a golf simulator, a reading room, their own private entrance and more.

This project has gone through several iterations and changed hands at least twice in the past decade. It was once pegged as the future home of Trump Tower Tampa.

Two Roads came on board in 2018. Construction began in 2023.

“Some people didn’t believe in this project and we did,” Two Roads president Brad Meltzer told the Tampa Bay Times. “You have to be a little pioneering sometimes and have faith.”

This will be his company’s first project in the Tampa Bay area. Two Roads has headed up several luxury condo developments in Miami including the Edition Residences, Miami Edgewater, The Standard Residences and Lofty Residences Brickell.
