  • October 14, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It’s flu season, and Florida is especially vulnerable. With vaccine hesitancy, the medical community worries that this season, the spread of the flu may be worse than usual.

The season runs from now through February, with the highest from November through February.

Doctors say that, knowing it takes two weeks for the vaccine to become effective, it is best to get the flu shot before Halloween.

April Jones, a pharmacist with CVS, joined News4Jax anchor Bruce Hamilton on The Morning Show to dispel common myths about the flu shot.
