Bern’s Steak House and the mobile coffee truck Casa Azul started a one-week partnership Wednesday. Two limited-time coffees take their cues from desserts served in the Harry Waugh Dessert Room. The event runs Oct. 14-21 and is part of the restaurant’s 70th anniversary party.
Hannah Thomas, the executive pastry chef at Bern’s, built the coffees with the Casa Azul team. Each drink starts with house-made syrup from Bern’s.
The Casa Azul truck pours the lattes from 7 a.m. to noon every day. Supplies are small, so each day’s batch won’t last long.
The first coffee is the Dutch Apple Roast. It mixes espresso, your choice of milk, apple pie spice, and Bern’s own Granny Smith apple syrup.
Next comes the Chef’s Reserve. Espresso, your choice of milk, and Bern’s black walnut syrup make up this one.
Want to taste the desserts behind the drinks? The Harry Waugh Dessert Room at Bern’s Steak House serves them. This team-up is the newest crossover event in the restaurant’s 70th anniversary celebration, That’s So Tampa reported.
The truck will park at a few spots during the week. Every stop runs from 7 a.m. to noon.
