October 15, 2026 – The BayCare Proton Center, located at the Fred J. Woods Radiation Therapy Center at BayCare’s St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, is now open. According to a prepared statement, the center focuses on “one of the most advanced forms of radiation treatment for adults and children.” Proton therapy “uses charged particles to precisely target tumors while reducing radiation exposure to nearby healthy tissue.”
