CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
Two residents of a halfway house were arrested by officers with the Cape Coral Police Department’s Special Victims Unit after they were accused of violating the terms of their probation.
According to CCPD, officers responded to a call for service at a halfway house on the 1700 block of Northwest 1st Place. A resident reported seeing their roommate, a registered sex offender named William Plumley, watching child sexual abuse material.
Officers executed a search warrant at the residence, which eventually led to the arrest of two men: Plumley and Enrico Mendes Jr. on probation violation charges. CCPD says that they were in possession of unauthorized cellular devices capable of connecting to the internet.
Investigators say they seized multiple electronic devices, including a smashed cell phone found hidden in a bathroom.
CCPD says that the investigation is still ongoing, and that additional charges may be forthcoming.
Only Plumley’s mugshot has been released at this time.
