CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by a Cape Coral couple against WB Williamson Bros after their new seawall began deteriorating.

Javier Lopez and Jessica Rayneri sued the company after their brand new seawall built in 2023 started falling apart less than two years after it was built. They argued the company did not honor its lifetime warranty and would not come out to make the repairs.

WB Williamson Bros blamed it on a bad material from their rebar manufacturer, Commercial Metals Company.

The lawsuit was one of five others filed against WB Williamson Bros with similar complaints about defective seawalls.

WINK News reached out to the attorneys for both sides for more details on the settlement and comment.
