CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A Cape Coral man was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department arrest report, on October 9, officers made contact with the victim, who told them that her ex-boyfriend, Bret Dahl, 31, had been calling her multiple times a day, despite the fact that she had blocked his number.
The victim told officers that Dahl had been using *67 to hide his caller ID and had called her hundreds of times following his release from jail, the report said. The victim also said Dahl had said he would come to her house if she contacted the police.
On October 11, the victim told officers that Dahl was threatening to come to her home, the report said. Dahl had told the victim he was going to drive to her home and kill her, and then had left a voicemail where it sounded like he was driving.
Dahl also told the victim he would kill her kids and that he knew where they went to school, the report said.
On October 14, officers located Dahl sitting in a car in the parking lot of the Publix located on Del Prado Boulevard South.
Dahl was arrested and faces a charge of aggravated stalking.
Dahl was previously arrested in 2024 after he reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and attacked her. Dahl, 28 at the time, smashed the woman’s betta fish tank and flushed her pet fish down the toilet during a spree of destruction at the home, according to CCPD.
