Before an hours-long SWAT standoff in Palm City, a man allegedly threatened to kill himself and his ex-girlfriend after she went to his home to check on him following their breakup, a new report reveals. According to an arrest report from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the ex-girlfriend of the suspect, Darrel Abbey, arrived at his home at about 12:08 p.m. after the two had broken up the previous night. She told investigators Abbey was not doing well mentally and had previously made comments about killing himself. (MCSO)
