CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A Cape Coral woman is wanted by deputies after she was accused of violating her probation following an arrest for drug possession.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Amber Aversano, 44, was arrested when a K9 unit immediately alerted officers to the presence of drugs in her car during a traffic stop. A search of her car found about one gram of crack rocks, multiple pills, crack, and fentanyl, which she had tucked inside her bra.
Aversano told officers she had no idea how the crack had gotten into her car. She was arrested and eventually found guilty of possession charges and was placed on probation, which she violated last month when a drug test found meth and fentanyl in her system, Crime Stoppers said.
Aversano is a registered convicted felon with 10 prior arrests on drug, fraud and DUI charges. She is 5’3″, weighs 155 pounds and could be using the aliases of Amber Koetting or Barbara Macmillan.
If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
