Our partnership with Miami-Dade County powers our beaches, transportation systems, water and sewer infrastructure, and community redevelopment. Our general obligation bond initiatives have proven that strategic investment delivers real results.
Good governance is fiscal strength. This year, we are refunding surplus funds to residents for the first time in 20 years, and we approved the first tax millage reduction since 2018. A clear signal that responsible leadership delivers tangible benefits for residents.
Our partnerships continue to shape the city’s future. We worked closely with the State’s Florida Department of Law Enforcement and County Sheriff’s Office to end the chaos of spring break and restore order to our streets—protecting both residents and visitors. And as we advance our water taxi system, we’re turning to the County for funding and logistical collaboration to finally connect our city by water, reducing traffic and enhancing mobility.
Local government is facing a defining moment. We must continue to fund the essential public safety, sanitation, transit, and infrastructure—but we also have a responsibility to dream bigger. That’s why we are embracing a new mindset: reimagining government not as a cost center, but as a catalyst. We are not just managing services; we are designing the future.
