ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2026) — Orlando City SC (12-13-5, 41 points) defeated D.C. United (7-10-12, 33 points) with a dominant 4-1 display on Saturday night at Inter.co Stadium. The win keeps the Lions in an automatic playoff qualification spots with four regular-season games remaining.
Antoine Griezmann continued his stellar form, opening the scoring in the 15th minute after linking up with Daryl Dike and Martín Ojeda. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner chipped the ball to Dike at the top of the box, received an immediate return ball and then combined with Ojeda in a quick give-and-go before calmly finishing to extend his streak of MLS matches with at least one goal contribution to 10.
Ojeda and Griezmann reversed roles on Orlando City’s second goal as Griezmann lofted a pass over the back line to the Argentine midfielder. Ojeda, who on Wednesday became Orlando City’s all-time leading goalscorer across all competitions, capped off the play with an acrobatic scorpion-kick finish that nestled just inside the far post to double the Lions’ lead in the 22nd minute.
D.C. United cut the deficit to 2-1 just before halftime after an Orlando defender brought down a player in the penalty area during a corner kick. Tai Baribo converted the penalty, placing his shot to Maxime Crépeau’s right and beyond the diving goalkeeper’s reach.
Griezmann scored again in the 50th minute, intercepting a pass from a D.C. United defender and finishing to restore the Lions’ two-goal lead. Designated Player Marco Pašalić added the final goal in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, running onto a through ball from Justin Ellis and beating goalkeeper Sean Johnson one-on-one to seal the victory.
Up next, the Lions will host New York City FC on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Inter.co Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV.

Interim Head Coach Martín Perelman:
“I think it’s important to have these players. Today we scored with all three [Designated Players] that we have, so I think that’s important, and in this league, it’s very important. Sometimes they are able to do it and sometimes not, but nobody can [dispute] the talent that they have. I think it’s about being humble, one game at a time. I think they are giving everything on the field and today was a tough game. We had to battle, to fight and to play when we could. Fortunately, we won, which is very important at home, and we are now thinking about the next game, resting a little bit because we came from a hard stretch of games. But now, it’s time to rest and prepare for the next one, which will be very important, like every game.”
Orlando City SC Midfielder Martín Ojeda (Interpreted from Spanish):
“I think the word is happiness. Happiness for getting the result that we hoped for tonight, for the result that we had trained these most recent days for and happiness for being able to play the game tonight in the way that we did. Of course, there were moments when we suffered. It’s normal in the course of a game that the other team is going to have their plays, but just happiness for the way that we played tonight, happiness to be a part of this group because we’ve got guys that are working so hard and happiness to be able to get this win tonight on our field and in front of our fans.”
Orlando City SC Forward Marco Pašalić:
“It’s nice when you can watch the team whether you play or not because this is a team sport. I’m happy that the guys did well today and even happier that I could help the team and did my part when I came in and scored the goal. I think it’s really important for the team now. It’s a nice feeling. I can speak for myself, and I can also speak for the vision of the team that this is really important for us.”
