TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) – Polls are open across Florida as candidates make their final push for votes ahead of the election.
As of Monday afternoon, thousands of Floridians had already cast their ballots, with this year’s midterm election expected to draw solid turnout.
The Leon County Supervisor of Elections Mark Earley said the open race for governor, with no incumbent, is one factor driving voter interest.
This year’s mid-term also includes races for U.S. Senate and other statewide offices.

With mail-in voting under scrutiny, some folks may opt for early in-person voting instead.
”The only chaos that is actually causing now is just the confusion of the voters. Yeah. So you can trust vote by mail,” Earley said.
Meanwhile, Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Gwen Graham was in Tallahassee Monday, challenging Republican Governor candidate Byron Donalds over data centers.
Donalds responded to Graham’s attack, saying, “if local communities don’t want a data center, a data center will not be built.”
Both gubernatorial candidates are scheduled to campaign this week, David Jolly with former President Bill Clinton and Byron Donalds with President Donald Trump.
