What is your top priority if elected?

Meeting the challenge of property tax reform. Whether Amendment 3 or future alternative proposals in coming years, there will be pressure on our city’s budget to find savings and solutions which maintain the high quality of services our residents expect.

What makes you the best candidate in the race?

Experience. I spent decades dealing with revenue issues as an attorney helping clients with tax problems. While on the Commission, I have kept a close eye on what the legislature is doings so that Longwood is better prepared for changes when they happen.

What other issues would you tackle while in office?

Preserving the historic character of my hometown is very important to me.

Economic redevelopment, especially the old South Seminole Hospital site, must proceed quickly but responsibly respecting the character of our community.

This Voter Guide was produced by the News Collaborative of Central Florida, a collective of independent local news outlets and aligned partners working toward a more informed and engaged Central Florida. Questions for the candidates were created by members of the collaborative and shared with candidates to answer. Attempts were made to contact all candidates to answer our questions – many responded but some did not. If a candidate did not respond, we have done our best to provide answers to our questions based on candidates’ websites, social media posts or public comments.
