At campaign stop, Ashley Moody says she still won’t debate Angie Nixon
U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna stated that Nixon was calling for Moody to be jailed because she would lose a debate against Moody. Moody has refused Nixon’s calls for a debate, following her involvement in the Hope Florida scandal.
Rays advance to World Series
The Rays clinched the American League Championship with a 7 to 3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians last night at Tropicana Field. The Rays will head to Milwaukee to face the Brewers for the start of the World series on Friday. Neither team has won a World Series title yet.
Republican Party of Florida says repeating Hope Florida information is illegal
The Republican Party of Florida has filed a lawsuit claiming that the grand jury’s report and its findings became contraband on Oct. 7, when a state appeals court ordered the report erased. The party also requested that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and prosecutors investigate the media stations.
Florida to execute 18th prisoner this year
Today, Florida is set to carry out the execution of 77 year-old William Reaves, who was sentenced to death after being convicted of first-degree murder for the 1986 shooting of Indian River County Deputy Richard Raczkowski. This year, Florida has outpaced the rest of the country in executions.
