LARGO, Fla. — A Pinellas County man is facing felony charges after investigators say he used a stolen credit card and personal information to create an Amazon account and make more than $22,000 in fraudulent purchases.

According to arrest affidavits from the Largo Police Department, 35-year-old Trevor Don Hayworth was arrested on charges of scheme to defraud between $20,000 and $50,000 and fraudulent use of personal identification information.

Investigators said Hayworth obtained a victim’s Capital One credit card information and used it to open an Amazon account in the victim’s name. Records obtained through a subpoena reportedly showed the account was used throughout 2024 and 2025 to purchase 784 items totaling $22,715.89.

The purchases included dozens of gift cards, according to the affidavit, and were shipped to at least eight different addresses over a two-year period.

Police said the victim was unaware of the fraudulent activity because a certified public accountant handled the victim’s monthly bills and taxes for several years. The case remains pending in court.
