On Tuesday, U.S. News and World Report released its list of the 150 best places to live in the United States and a city on the Treasure Coast has been selected.

The city of Port St. Lucie was recognized as the No. 83 best place to live by U.S. News for 2024-25.

Port St. Lucie was recently recognized as one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation by the U.S. Census.

According to U.S. News and World Report, “Port St. Lucie has a more relaxed atmosphere than its larger neighbors. Its clean streets and quiet neighborhoods are woven around scenic waterways and lush green golf courses. Homes in the area can be affordable to buy or rent, compared with other South Florida housing markets. However, as Port St. Lucie’s popularity has risen, so too has the cost of housing here.”

The St. Lucie River, a valuable resource to the community, is used by residents for boating and fishing.

Port St. Lucie’s natural side is strengthened by its world-class amenities. The New York Mets play spring training games at Clover Park, and Port St. Lucie is home to an all-inclusive resort on the St. Lucie River.”

U.S. News also ranked Port St. Lucie the 49th best city to retire.

Other Florida cities to make the list were No. 1 Naples, No. 11 Sarasota, No. 31 Pensacola, No. 35 Tampa, No. 37 Fort Myers, No. 49 Melbourne, No. 56 Jacksonville, No. 68 Orlando, No. 75 Tallahassee, No. 78 Ocala, No. 80 Lakeland, No. 96 Daytona Beach and No. 123 Miami.
