Cape Coral City Council will review a proposal to allocate over $34 million for the second phase of the yacht club park project, which would extend the contract by two years and fund various site improvements.
Cape Coral City Council is set to discuss a proposal Wednesday at 4 p.m. to add more than $34 million to the yacht club park project.
The additional funding would cover the second phase of construction, including a new fuel system and tanks, utility work, other site improvements, and beach amenities.
If approved, the amendment would increase the contract total to $58,872,832.35 and extend the contract by two years. The city anticipates the project will be substantially completed by June 5, 2029, with final completion by July 4, 2029.
The city’s concept plans for the site have included a two-story community center, marina docks, a resort-style pool, and a parking garage for hundreds of vehicles. However, the final plan for the site remains uncertain.
Last month, the city reviewed two proposals for hotels and directed staff to collaborate with KMB Marine and Yacht Clubs of the Americas to refine their proposal.
