ORLANDO, Fla. –The Florida A&M men’s basketball team got a 34-point showing from the bench, but fell 97-60 to the UCF Knights on the road Tuesday.

Devere Palmer led the Rattlers (0-3) with nine points and three steals. Miles Ndalama added eight points, six rebounds and three blocks and Anthony Knowles chipped in as well with 12 points from the bench.

Florida A&M utilized excellent ball movement in Tuesday’s game, piling up 15 assists on 21 made field goals. Palmer’s three assists were the most for the Rattlers and Kaleb Washington also contributed with three assists of his own.

Florida A&M did a great job disrupting UCF shots in the contest, coming away with six blocks. Ndalama’s three rejections led the way individually for the Rattlers.

How It Happened

Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 48-20 heading into halftime.

Florida A&M came out of halftime clicking on all cylinders, going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Tyler Shirley’s three, to shrink the deficit to 48-25 with 17:50 to go in the contest. UCF responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 97-60. Florida A&M got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 25 of its 40 total points.
