Jimmy Roosevelt Sluder, 87, of Surface Hill Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Born on March 25, 1939, in McComas, he was a son of the late Alger M. and Lillian T. Dunford Sluder. He had lived in Mercer County for 10 year and was a retired mechanic. He was a member of Deliverance Temple in Brushfork. He had previously lived in Florida where he evangelized to various nursing homes and prisons.
Survivors include his wife Ann Hall Sluder of the home; a son Allen of NC; a daughter, Sheila of NC; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a brother Gary of Cape Coral, FL; and sisters, Shelby Edge of Wismuma, FL, and Cape Coral, FL.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield with Rev. Omar Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
