(Fort Lauderdale, FL) – The Broward County animal shelter is full and is asking residents to help pets find forever homes.
Director of Broward County Animal Care, Doug Brightwell, says adoption fees have been waived but the standard pet registration fee still applies.
“Our shelter needs the community’s help now,” said Brightwell, “If you are ready to welcome a pet into your family, please consider adopting. You will give that animal a home and help us make room for another pet who needs care.”
Residents can view available cats and dogs at Broward.org/Animal or visit the shelter to meet your future pet in person.
Animal care spokeswoman Jodie Robinson says overcrowding affects quality of life for dogs and cats.
Residents who cannot adopt can help by sharing adoptable pets and this urgent appeal with friends, family and neighbors.
The agency is asking the community to “step in, step up and save a life.”
