The Veterans Day Parade will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, on Cape Coral Parkway in Cape Coral. CITY OF CAPE CORAL
Local groups and individuals are being sought to participate in this year’s Veterans Day Parade.
It will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, along Cape Coral Parkway. The staging will begin at 9 a.m., and the parade will proceed west starting at Cape Coral Street and ending at Chester Street.
“We currently have 40, and we are still accepting applications,” city of Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Deputy Director Mike Massoglia said of how many participants they had as of Thursday.
Last year, the Veterans Day Parade had 58 participants and brought together veterans, veterans’ organizations, high school marching bands, JROTC units, first responders, local businesses, local nonprofits and community groups.
“Hosting the Veterans Day Parade is an opportunity for the city to bring our community together and say thank you to the men and women who have served our country. It gives residents a meaningful way to show their appreciation and helps younger generations understand the importance of military service,” he said. “You don’t have to be part of a parade group to make a difference. Simply coming out, lining the route and cheering for our veterans is a meaningful way to say thank you.”
Applications for participation are due by 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
