CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A Lee County man was sentenced to 27 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine, the Cape Coral Police Department announced in a news release.
CCPD says that this was following an FBI-led investigation that spanned nearly a year. CCPD’s Special Investigative Unit was assigned to the FBI task force and served as the lead investigator.
Frederick Taylor, 38, pleaded guilty in 2025. He lived in Cape Coral and operated a drug distribution network in North Fort Myers.
The FBI conducted several controlled buys of meth at two residences that were part of Taylor’s network.
Back in 2024, the FBI, with assistance from officers, arrested Taylor at his home. They executed a residential search warrant on his home and recovered more than $12,000 in U.S. currency, a Rolex watch, a handgun and a shotgun.
The FBI, with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, also executed warrants at two North Fort Myers residences. These searches led to three people being arrested. They were federally charged with narcotics-related offenses.
In total, seven individuals, including Taylor, was federally indicted.
