FORT PIERCE – A missing 5-year-old girl with autism was found deceased in a pond not far from her Portofino Landings Boulevard home on Oct. 24, Fort Pierce Police confirmed.
Mayra Glory Odelus, who was non-verbal, was reported missing by her family at about 11:39 a.m., from her home in the 5100 block of Portofino Landings Boulevard.
She was last seen wearing a dark, oversized shirt with two white beads in her hair.
Soon after she was reported missing, Fort Pierce Police posted a flyer on Facebook about the missing girl, whose body was discovered about three hours later.
“Our deepest condolences are with Mayra’s family and loved ones during this tragic time,” Fort Pierce Police wrote in the Facebook posting.
