The Mayor of Doral is set to hold a news conference Wednesday to discuss preparations for the G20 Leaders’ Summit that’s coming to the city in December.
The summit will be held Dec. 14-15 at Trump National Doral and is expected to bring some of the world’s most powerful leaders to Miami-Dade County.
The G20 summit brings together the world’s major economies to strengthen international cooperation and address global economic issues. The list of participating countries includes Canada, China and Russia, with an invitation extended to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Doral Mayor Christi Fraga will provide critical information on measures that will be put in place to ensure public safety. She and other city officials will discuss road closures, traffic restrictions and the expected disruptions to businesses and schools in the city.
The summit has been designated a National Special Security Event, or NSSE. That designation is given to events of national significance that may present potential security risks and require extensive federal resources.
