While football is the main attraction of the annual New Year’s Eve Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Orlando, this year’s event will also feature a musical star.

Country music singer-songwriter Jordan Davis will perform a postgame concert on the field shortly after the conclusion of the game. The 80th annual Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, the seventh-oldest collegiate bowl game in the country, spotlights the top Big Ten and SEC teams.

With two platinum-certified albums, eight No. 1 singles and more than 5 billion streams, Davis is one of country music’s rising stars with hits such as “Buy Dirt” featuring Luke Bryan, “Next Thing You Know” and “When My World Spins Around.”

“For eight decades, the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl has been a celebration of football, our community and the fans who bring this incredible annual event to life,” said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports, in a news release. “Jordan Davis is one of the biggest names in country music, and having him help us ring in the New Year following another massive SEC-Big Ten showdown will make this year’s 80th game one to remember.”

Dates, times and TV for Orlando bowls revealed

This year’s Cheez-It Citrus Bowl kicks off at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31 and game tickets include access to the postgame concert. Access to the show will not be sold separately. Single-game tickets go on sale to the general public on Dec. 7 following the announcement of the participating teams.

“There’s no better way to close out the year than with college football and live country music,” Davis said in a news release. “I can’t wait to celebrate with the fans in Orlando.”
