Agency Access Q&A
What first drew you to Priority Marketing?
“I first learned about Priority Marketing through an employee who was a fellow college alum, friend and sorority sister. As I researched the agency, I was immediately drawn to the story behind the business, and the values Teri Hansen built the company around. Priority Marketing’s people-first approach, commitment to clients and dedication to making a positive impact in the community stood out to me.
What ultimately convinced me to join the team was the culture. From day one, there was a strong emphasis on collaboration, professional growth and supporting employees both personally and professionally. As my career has advanced over the years, I’ve been fortunate to grow through multiple roles and help develop the social media department while being surrounded by talented teammates and leaders who genuinely want to see each other succeed. The agency’s support for families, especially working moms, has also been a major factor in why I’ve chosen to build my career here.”
How do you convince a business that social media is worth investing in?
“Social media is one of the first places people go to learn about a company, research products or services, and determine whether a brand is trustworthy. In many cases, a company’s social channels create a first impression before someone ever visits its website.
Throughout my career, I’ve watched social media evolve from solely a brand awareness tool into a critical part of a company’s overall digital presence. Today, what you post on social media can influence how people find you through traditional web searches and AI-powered tools. That’s why we encourage clients to think strategically about every piece of content they publish. It’s no longer just about getting likes and comments. It’s about building credibility, showcasing expertise and creating content that helps people find and trust your business.
Beyond visibility, social media supports measurable business outcomes. Whether the goal is generating leads, driving website traffic, increasing event attendance, recruiting employees or strengthening customer relationships, a strategic social media program supports broader business objectives. The most successful organizations view social media as a key component of their overall digital marketing ecosystem rather than a standalone tactic.”
What factors make a social media post engaging to followers?
“The most engaging social media content puts the audience first. People are looking for content that educates, entertains, inspires or helps solve a problem. Successful posts speak directly to the interests and needs of followers rather than focusing solely on the organization.
A few years ago, the advice might have been to jump on any relevant trend. Today, I think audiences are experiencing trend fatigue. Instead of chasing every viral moment, I encourage brands to focus on creating recurring content series that become recognizable to their audience. Whether it’s weekly tips, behind-the-scenes content or team spotlights, consistency gives people a reason to come back and helps establish a distinct brand voice.
For example, a business might create a weekly Reel series that highlights team expertise, shares quick tips, answers common questions or provides behind-the-scenes insights. A recurring series allow brands to showcase their personality and services in a way that is both entertaining and educational. Just like viewers tune into their favorite television show each week, a consistent content cadence gives followers something to look forward to while establishing a recognizable voice and brand identity.
Strong visual hooks, compelling storytelling and authenticity are critical. The most successful content creates a genuine connection while consistently delivering value to the audience.”
How can a brand increase its social media following?
“Growing a social media following starts with consistently delivering valuable content that resonates with the target audience. Brands should focus on quality over quantity and create content that reflects their expertise, personality and mission.
One of the most effective strategies is developing recurring content pillars and series that audiences can expect on a regular basis. Consistency helps build familiarity and trust while creating opportunities for followers to engage with content over time. Educational tips, FAQ series, employee spotlights, industry insights and behind-the-scenes content all help humanize a brand while positioning it as a trusted resource.
It’s also important to engage with followers rather than simply broadcast messages. Responding to comments, participating in conversations, collaborating with community partners and influencers, and encouraging user-generated content can help expand reach and visibility.
Additionally, social media growth should be viewed through a broader digital marketing lens. Strong organic content not only supports engagement but can also contribute to visibility in search results and AI-driven discovery experiences. When businesses consistently create valuable, informative content, they increase opportunities for new audiences to discover their brand across multiple platforms and channels.
Sustainable growth happens when a brand earns trust, demonstrates expertise and gives people a reason to keep coming back.”
Why should a business invest in a professional social media team rather than DIYing it with existing employees?
“While existing employees may be experts in their respective roles, social media often becomes an additional responsibility that competes with their primary job functions. A professional social media team brings specialized expertise, dedicated resources and a strategic perspective that ensures content aligns with business goals and larger marketing initiatives.
Successful social media management requires much more than creating a post and hitting publish. It involves strategy, content creation, copywriting, graphic design, videography, photography, analytics, community management, paid advertising, influencer marketing and staying on top of constantly evolving platform updates and consumer behaviors.
Today, social media professionals also need to understand how content supports broader digital marketing efforts, including search engine optimization (SEO), answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO). Creating social content that resonates with audiences while simultaneously supporting discoverability requires a strategic, integrated approach.
Professional social media teams need to build sustainable content ecosystems. Rather than chasing every trending audio or viral moment, they focus on creating consistent, branded content series, developing thought leadership and delivering measurable results over time. Investing in professionals allows businesses to maximize results, maintain consistency and ensure their social media presence is supporting not only today’s audience engagement goals, but also long-term brand visibility and growth.”
