TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Shelter dogs landed in Tallahassee in an organization’s attempt to save them from overcrowded shelters and help them find their forever homes.
Through volunteer drivers and pilots, four dogs, two puppies and two adults flew in from neighboring Georgia on Wednesday.
Pilots said these dogs were at risk of being euthanized but now have a chance to go to a loving home.
More Tallahassee news:
Michael Schneider, the founder of Pilots to the Rescue, said that they usually bring dogs from down south to up north, rather than the other way around.
“We’re not often bringing them from Georgia to Florida, so that’s interesting,” Schneider said. “In the great state of Florida, you guys have big hearts and want to open up your homes for loving animals too, so we love to see that.
The final destinations for the dogs are Tallahassee, Ocala and Melbourne.
