The Luce St. Pete Beach, the only Marriott property on Florida’s St. Pete Beach, has unveiled a year-round calendar of events designed to bring together hotel guests, local residents and day visitors through a series of wellness, entertainment and food-and-drink experiences.
At the heart of the programme is the hotel’s signature Sunset Social, a nightly gathering that transforms sunset into a communal celebration. Held each evening in the courtyard, the event features a bespoke cocktail inspired by the colours of the sky before guests join together for a sunset toast overlooking the Gulf Coast. Unusually for a hotel activation, the experience is open to the public as well as overnight guests.
The expanded events calendar marks the latest chapter for the property, which reopened earlier this year as The Luce St. Pete Beach after a transformation from the much-loved former Postcard Inn. The redevelopment retained the property’s retro Florida character while introducing a fresh, design-led identity under Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio brand.
Alongside the Sunset Social, the hotel has introduced a range of regular activations, including weekend DJ-led Sunset Sessions, complimentary beach yoga classes, a daily Martinis & Fries happy hour at the on-site Sundrop restaurant, and The Golden Roll, a monthly live cigar-rolling experience hosted with local cigar maker Findy Cigars.
Jeremy DaSilva, General Manager of The Luce St. Pete Beach, said the objective is to create a gathering place that serves both travellers and the local community. He described the Sunset Social as the heart of the property, bringing together people who may never have met before to share a common experience as the sun sets over the Gulf.
The initiative reflects a wider trend in hospitality towards creating destination experiences that extend beyond traditional accommodation, with hotels increasingly seeking to become social hubs for their surrounding communities as well as places to stay.
Featuring 200 guest rooms, direct beach access, St. Pete Beach’s largest swimming pool and a programme of daily activations, The Luce is positioning itself as both a lifestyle destination and a community gathering space on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
