CAPE CORAL, FL — Collaborative work by Cape Coral Police Department patrol officers, Violent Crimes Unit detectives, Forensics Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Service has resulted in the swift arrest of the suspect in the October 22 road rage shooting.

At approximately 5:59 p.m. on October 22, 2026, CCPD patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of Santa Barbara Blvd S, where they located a driver with a gunshot wound to the chin and a passenger injured by broken glass. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant through the State Attorney’s Office and enlisted the aid of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force-Fort Myers Office, which includes a CCPD Task Force Officer. Task force members located and arrested Cichini during a traffic stop without incident in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
