TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The North Florida Fair opens one week from Thursday and safety is at the top of mind as the countdown continues.
This year, the fair released a code of conduct to make the rules public and known ahead of time.
Executive Director of the fair, Miranda Muir, says a lot of work goes in to making the event safe.

“State inspectors are out here regularly inspecting all of the rides,” Muir said. “They’re all inspected prior to opening and then throughout the week and spot checks randomly.”
Muir added the state’s inspectors are out the week of the fair before opening and do daily checks.
“Our state of Florida ride inspectors are the best and they are definitely very active here in Tallahassee,” Muir said.
Muir said police and private security will be at the fair and will not hesitate to remove anyone who does not follow the rules in order to keep the rest of the fair goers safe.
