Cape Coral man accused of shooting gun under influence of alcohol in home

A man was arrested in Cape Coral after being accused of shooting a gun in his home under the influence of alcohol.According to the Cape Coral Police Department, shots were heard at a residence on the 1400 block of NW 31st Avenue. Officers found William Laird, 58, in the home where the gunshots came from.According to the arrest report, Laird was playing cards at The Sandbar and Grille and got into an argument with his girlfriend before coming home. He then took his gun from the safe where it was stored and fired six shots into the ceiling.
