John Simon, a Cape Coral voter, shared his concerns about the current state of affairs.

“We have the war in Iran. We have gas prices. We have the economy. We have the health insurance crisis. We have so many things that our president today is not taking care of,” Simon said.

He encouraged everyone to make their voices heard.

“We need everybody to come out and vote today. Our very existence in this America that we love and know, it depends on us coming out here and vote Democrat, Republican, whoever you’re going to vote for. Come out and vote today if you haven’t voted already,” Simon said.

Polls will remain open until 7 p.m., and voters in line by that time will still be allowed to cast their ballots. Mail-in ballots must be hand-delivered to the county supervisor of elections office by 7 p.m. They cannot be dropped off at polling places but can be surrendered in exchange for a regular ballot.

Before heading to the polls, voters are advised to double-check their precinct, review their sample ballot, and bring a valid photo ID with a signature. Accepted forms of identification include a driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military ID.

Susan Dahod, another Cape Coral voter, emphasized the importance of voting as a form of self-expression.

“We really want people to vote the way they feel about their representation, and really come out and express themselves with their vote,” Dahod said.

Polls will remain open until 7 p.m. for those who have yet to cast their ballots.
