PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Flooding has forced St. Lucie County election officials to move six precincts’ polling places on Election Day, including several in Port St. Lucie.
The Supervisor of Elections Office announced the changes in a notice posted Monday. Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker said inclement weather and flooding affected road access to some voting sites. The office said the moves are meant to give voters “safe and accessible locations to cast their ballots.”
In Port St. Lucie, voters in precincts 49 and 71, who normally cast ballots at Oak Hammock K-8 School, will vote at the Port St. Lucie Community Center at 2195 SE Airoso Blvd. Precinct 51 voters, who normally vote at the Disabled American Veterans Hall, will also go to the community center. The county says voters should enter from Airoso Boulevard.
Voters in precincts 67 and 86 will not vote at Centennial High School in St. Lucie West. They will vote at Indian River State College’s Veterans Center of Excellence, at 500 NW California Blvd. The county says access is from Peacock Boulevard.

In Fort Pierce, Precinct 12 voters will move from the Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge to the Days Inn Midtown at 3224 S US Highway 1.
The notice does not list any polling places as closed. It also does not say whether voters who already went to their normal location will be redirected on site.
