For South Florida and Treasure Coast voters who waited until Tuesday to cast ballots, it’s going to be a wet one, and some planned polling places have been swapped for drier sites.
Election Day opened with relocations in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties after days of heavy rain submerged roads and restricted access to voting locations.
Miami-Dade was spared the brunt of the inclement weather and has no relocations listed in notices Florida Politics reviewed Tuesday morning.
By then, the heaviest rainfall had subsided. AccuWeather forecast fewer downpours Tuesday, while warning that isolated thunderstorms could still deliver substantial rain. Waterlogged buildings also require cleaning and inspection before reopening, even after surrounding water drains.
The Department of State’s relocation page lists replacement sites, though those assignments can change. The following changes were announced for the six-county region as of 10 a.m.:
— Broward: Precinct T018 at Paradise Village Clubhouse moved to Precinct T013 at Tree Tops Park’s Oak Ridge Auditorium, 3900 SW 100th Ave., in Davie.

State and local officials advise voters to confirm their polling place assignments before traveling, as Election Day voting requires using the location assigned to their precinct.
The disruption follows an emergency declaration Gov. Ron DeSantis issued Monday for seven counties — Brevard, DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie — allowing Supervisors of Elections there who cannot meet polling-place requirements to seek state approval for alternative sites.
Florida Politics reported Monday that Palm Beach election officials had notified affected voters by email and text, if their contact information was available, about changes to two polling places in the county.
St. Lucie County offices closed Tuesday, and the county also suspended transit services. Port St. Lucie kept facilities serving as polling places available, and Martin County likewise maintained voting at libraries despite closing county offices, WPBF reported.
Polls close at 7 p.m. Anyone in line then can still vote.
