The PSLPD identified the victims of the deadly shooting as Mark Golden, a member of the community’s homeowners association, along with David Gasick, who was married to the HOA secretary. Chief Leo Niemczyk held a news conference on Thursday with Lt. Daniel Herrington, outlining the timeline of events leading up to the shooting. “He was calmly walking. There was an employee who was working in an area who said hello to him, did not think anything about it. He walked right up to Mr. Golden’s residence and shot him. The one employee who was working on a neighboring house says he turns around and sees our suspect leaving with a handgun in his hand, just walking away. He then went to our second victim’s home, Mr. Gaskin, and shot him,” Herrington said. Herrington said Golden was shot while in his garage, and Gasick was shot through the screen door of his home. He said Maraio then went across the street to a third home where he held a woman hostage. Niemczyk said the motive appears to be an ongoing civil matter involving Maraio and the HOA. “The HOA was actively seeking to evict the suspect from the community. They had deemed him to be a disruptive resident and somebody who made other people uncomfortable,” Niemczyk said.
