Universal’s phenomenal quarter can be largely attributed to the grand opening of Universal Epic Universe, the first new theme park in Orlando in over 25 years. The company says it’s “holding back” on operating Epic Universe at full capacity. Universal Destinations & Experiences also opened the first Universal Horror Unleashed venue, a year-round haunt location, in August in Las Vegas, Nev.

In July, Disneyland opened Walt Disney – A Magical Life, the first attraction featuring an Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney, as part of the resort’s ongoing 70th anniversary celebration. Disney’s year-over-year increase can also be attributed to the launch of the Disney Treasure cruise ship in late 2024. Disney’s CFO said the company feels “good” about continuing domestic revenue growth despite the opening of Epic Universe.

Six Flags is the subject of ongoing corporate news following its 2024 merger with Cedar Fair. The company may close or sell more parks in the future.

United Parks did not open any major attractions this quarter; its leadership expressed a desire to market its parks better. Its portfolio includes SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Sesame Place theme parks.
