To Katie Leone, natural healing isn’t just a lifestyle, it’s a mission. That passion led her to open Natural Matters Here, Cape Coral’s only fully organic, handmade apothecary.
But what exactly is an apothecary? Leone explains it as a source of holistic information and remedies—“a place or person who knows all the knowledge or has all the herbs to holistically maintain your health.”
And in Cape Coral, she’s the one hand-crafting those herbs and products herself.
“People walk in and the first thing they say is, ‘Wow, this place has a good energy,’” Leone said. “Everyone always tells me I have the most knowledge and passion about this. I’m just so passionate about helping people feel better.”
Her passion comes from personal experience. Leone went through several health scares and later discovered she was allergic to most over-the-counter medications. That pushed her to explore natural alternatives. She’s spent the last few years learning, testing, and eventually mastering the world of herbs.
Inside her apothecary, you’ll find rows of items you won’t see on typical store shelves: unique herbs, tinctures, hand-blended teas, and even natural laundry detergent. If you’re stressed, she’ll help you find something to unwind. If you’re trying to quit smoking, she has an herbal blend for that too.
“I spent years drinking and trying herbs to see how they would react in my body,” she said. “Not every herb is for everyone. I’m a certified herbalist, and I love helping people pick what works best for them.”
Beyond the shelves, Natural Matters Here doubles as a community space. Leone hosts events ranging from Thanksgiving centerpiece-making workshops with plants she gathers from local forests. She also hosts Christmas Ornament classes, sleep-stick classes, herbal intervention sessions, holistic health seminars and more.
Her mission reaches far beyond selling products.
Natural Matters Here is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. Till 3 p.m. And open on the First Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
