ST. LUCIE COUNTY – The victim in an ongoing homicide investigation at the Taylor Creek Spillway has been officially identified as Jy’Heem Ross, 22, of Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook posting on Nov. 10.
Ross was last seen in the 2000 block of St. Lucie Boulevard on Nov. 1 at about 2:30 p.m., according to sheriff’s office reports.
On Nov. 4, at about 10:30 a.m., deputies from the Patrol Operations Bureau, along with members of the sheriff’s Marine Unit, responded to the Taylor Creek Spillway in the 1800 block of North U.S. 1 regarding a report of a body floating in the water. The body was recovered from the waterway, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division have assumed the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
