LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A Louisville woman has been arrested in Florida on a manslaughter charge stemming from a 2020 deadly crash in Laurel County.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Jessica Chambers was arrested in Marion County, Florida, by U.S. Marshals on a Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant charging her with second-degree manslaughter.
Investigators say the charges follow a traffic crash that happened on November 10, 2020, along KY 30, about seven miles north of London. Deputies say Chambers was driving a Kia Sedona when she turned in front of another vehicle, causing a collision that killed 90-year-old George Sizemore of Manchester.
Following an investigation, deputies determined Chambers was allegedly under the influence at the time of the crash.
The sheriff’s office says Chambers allegedly fled to Florida after the crash and is now awaiting extradition back to Laurel County.
