A Fuquay-Varina man who died in August while vacationing in Florida
accidentally drowned, an autopsy reveals.
A forensic anthropological examination of Giovanni Pelletier
found no evidence of trauma or injury. He was 18.
The medical examiner reported that video evidence of Pelletier
active and alone in the area where he was found supports the idea that no other
person caused his death.
In August, authorities
found Pelletier’s remains in a Manatee County, Florida, retention pond.
Toxicological testing of liver tissue showed a small amount
of ethanol, which is consistent with decomposition.
Pelletier was visiting family in August.
