The Cape Coral Seahawks have been building momentum under Head Coach Jaylen Watkins, and they are ready for the biggest stage of the year.
“I truly say that these guys are truly like brothers. And it reminds me of my time here. And so I’m excited to see how they handle the adversity today. Whether that be win-loss, whether that be touchdown, fumble. This game counts differently than it does the other ones. And their bond that they’ve created over the last two years together. You should see that show tonight,” said Jaylen Watkins, head coach of Cape Coral High School.
Meanwhile, the Gulf Coast Sharks are gearing up for their tenth playoff appearance in the program’s history, still seeking their first postseason win. Head Coach Manual Evans is embracing the underdog role with his team.
“You know, 0-9, that’s the history. That’s the measuring stick, to get that first-ever playoff win and to move on and to keep practicing, it goes back to what I told them in the middle of October. November weather, November football is just different. And we’re here. So, we’re going to give it our best shot,” said Manual Evans, head coach of Gulf Coast High School.
The Sharks started strong, coming out swinging with two hard-hitting runs on their first drive, scoring a touchdown and taking the lead 7-0.
The excitement continues at Cape Coral High School as both teams battle for playoff glory.
