TAMPA, Fla. — After more than three decades of service, the Maureen and Douglas Cohn Jewish Community Campus in Tampa is set to close.
Leaders say the decision comes after years of financial struggles, declining membership, and rising operating costs.
The Jewish Community Center and preschool on the campus will close at the end of May 2026.
The Weinberg Village Assisted Living Facility will close next month.
The Tampa JCC plans to sell the 22-acre property to a developer.
Officials say that about 90% of assisted-living residents have already been rehoused.
A job fair is being organized for the more than 90 employees who will lose their jobs due to the closure.
The organization says it hopes to continue some programs at other locations and support families impacted by the move.
